Recently, the Dara Sakor project, located on the southwest coast of Cambodia's Koh Kong Province, announced the official names of its seven regions. After more than ten years of planning and construction since its launch in 2007, the Dara Sakor project has gradually become an important force in promoting regional economic development and tourism prosperity. The region naming ceremony not only showcases the progress of the project, but also looks forward to the future development prospects. The Dara Sakor project covers an area of 360 square kilometers with 90 kilometers of high-quality coastline, that is one of the few coastline resources in Southeast Asia that has not been exploited on a large scale. The project consists of seven distinctive regions, each carefully planned according to its natural characteristics and development orientation. The Santipheap Sakor, Saophon Sakor, Chhol Sakor, Somnang Sakor, Veha Sakor, Sampoan Sakor and Thmor Sor Sakor each have their own distinctive features, aiming to create a comprehensive seaside new town integrating eco-tourism, health and wellness, and scientific and technological research and development.
